We had a really fun thing happen during the week. A Masked Marauder of Merriment appeared. Someone named Mr. Anderson purchased a whole bunch of noses and handed them out around Springfield. It was kind of a Secret Santa thing.
He had us deliver noses to Boys and Girls Town, The Boys and Girls Clubs, NAMI, Carol Jones Recovery Center, The Missouri Hotel, a Nursing Home, a Bar, a Sorority, and O'Reillys Auto Parts corporate office and SRC Remanufacturing. It was a very cool, fun thing to be a part of. He really spread a whole lot of Joy all over town!
Thank You Mr. Anderson,
whoever you are!
It was a great event. Giggleboxes raised over $3000 toward the toys and stuff to go in the Giggleboxes we are donating to our kids with cancer.
Our next event this Spring was the June Bug Jamboree. That was the 20th annual VW show and sale in the Ozarks. They had picked us as their charity of choice and total proceeds were $750 to Giggleboxes! Yeah! They even passed out the Gigglebox Choice award which we got to vote on. Our winner was a 1959 VW Bug, white convertible with a black top. Simply beautiful, but it was a really difficult decision!
A special Thanks to Hood's Restaurant and Truck Stop for all they did that week too!
The next stop for "Giggles", the bus is the 46th Annual Ozarks Antique Auto Club's Auction and Swap Meet on August 16,17,and 18th. They're expecting 50,000 people from 23 states, so this will be our biggest event so far. The clowns are ready, face painters limbering up and I'm taking a vacation for 2 weeks in Michigan just prior. I'll make sure and let you all know how it goes when we recover! From the event, that is, not the vacation!
In our last newsletter to you in the Spring, we made a major Goof! When I was telling you about our awesome Nose Poser's I must have had a brain F*RT big time. Our dear friend Obi Simpson, an awesome guy and friend to Giggleboxes deserves an apology. I put his competitors studio name and web site in the newsletter, instead of his!!! Holy Cr*p!!! I apologize Obi and I hope this makes up for it in some small way.
Here's the place to go to come out looking like Fred Astaire and have fun in the process. A great way to meet fun people and get some exercise without even feeling like it!
